Would you like to run a marathon in August? The Paavo Nurmi Marathon in Turku, Finland, offers you the best running conditions in summery Europe and the most beautiful archipelago in the world combined with fresh air and three distance options: 10km, half-marathon and full marathon.

The Paavo Nurmi Marathon, to be held on August 17, is one of the most popular marathon events in Finland. Almost four thousand participants will gather in the centre of the (B)oldest city in Finland for the 28th time. For Finns, this event has already become a classic, and year after year we have seen more and more foreign runners on the starting line as well.

If you decide to visit beautiful Turku, you are able to choose between 10km, half-marathon or full marathon distances. Last year we also invented a new side event, a minimarathon for children, which is totally free not only for children but also for parents running with their kids. The minimarathon will be run on the same day as the other distances.

Finnish marathon events are prestigious not only in Finland but also around the world. The Paavo Nurmi Marathon is an official event of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). It guarantees world-class participant services and an excellent course.

Along with the magnificent weather conditions, Finland offers the cleanest and undoubtedly best air in the world. In Turku, the natural environment and the city live side by side, and it’s only a couple of kilometres from the city centre to the Baltic Sea.

Turku was the original capital of Finland, so while running on the route of the Paavo Nurmi Marathon, you can feel a dab of history too. The beautiful old city is placed in the middle of the marathon route. On the route you can also see the beautiful riverbank that is adored by the locals.
